I really enjoy this solution. I think it works far better than the original. It’s less cluttered and overall has a nice feeling to it. It gives off a street sign/urban design feel. This is perfect for your designer.

Thanks, Jared. I was going for a directional sign look. I still have to add some space around the image on the initial spread, and add the other things (mentioned above) to it. I “feel” this design better than my other version.

The initial spread is so great! It’s simple and leads the eye to the right. the colors are fun, and the font fits the “signage” function. The secondary spread feels heavier, because the colors are so dark. Try leaving some negative space like you did on the first one. I think you’ll also need a small something on the top left corner to balance it out.

Awesome Pete. Very simple and well laid out. Clean structure with good imagery does your designer most justice. For the pull quote, try to use a color that is present in the picture on the opposite page just for that little extra cohesion. Maybe that red on that ticker sign or the blue from the tower. Nice work Peter. Awesome to see all your different ideas too. Really helps narrow it down to the right one. Dont worry about Elise, I have plenty of Kleenex from the last project.

Very good execution as far as the way the spreads are laid out, for example that first page with the soft colors representing backgrounds for each of the words that when put together leads you to read on, to take the time and keep reading the article. The 2nd spread as one of the other group members had mentioned maybe doesn’t click to well with the 1st spread, but like mine all this is a rough draft before the final, can’t wait to see the cover…….GREAT WORK

simple and clean. something i have a hard time doing in designs for some reason. nice. the type in the middle on the second spread, the pull out quote, looks off to me. it makes the spread look unbalanced in my opinion. the choice of colors are nice and go good with you spread. what if you tried adding a subtle touch of those colors in youre second spread so it looks more unified. i thinks thats whats missing. hey wheres the cover?

Really clean design. Very cohesive, but what if u would of had the big picture in the initial spread?, just to get our attention more. I also like the choice of colors it makes everything tie in.
